Our Mission & Vision

Our vision and mission is to help connect people to faith

The United Methodist Church brings together over 12 million members across four continents, engaging in ministry worldwide. We speak many languages, represent diverse cultures, and span across generations—yet we are united by our shared faith in Jesus Christ.

Mission & Purpose

As United Methodists, we have an obligation to bear a faithful Christian witness to Jesus Christ, the living reality at the center of the Church’s life and witness. To fulfill this obligation, we reflect critically on our biblical and theological inheritance, striving to express faithfully the witness we make in our own time.

Learn more about the Methodist Faith

The roots of the United Methodist Church run deep. Although not officially established until 1968, the rich history of UMC stretches back to 1784.

Our Beliefs & Values

Service

We strive to live with love and justice as followers of Jesus Christ—by healing the sick, feeding the hungry, welcoming the stranger, liberating the oppressed, offering compassionate presence, and shaping social systems that reflect the values of the gospel.

Promoting health and wholeness

Because we are committed to the holistic well-being of all people, the mental, physical, and spiritual health of individuals is a central focus of The United Methodist Church’s work.

Advocacy

The United Methodist Church has a rich tradition of advocating for social justice, carried on today by working, marching, and praying for racial equity, environmental stewardship, and the fair treatment of all people.

Outreach

We strive to participate in missio Dei – God’s mission – whenever and wherever we can. To that end, we raise funds for Numana (Now the Outreach Project), as well as supplies for our local food pantry.

“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.”

– John Wesley
